This Memorial Day weekend I would to like to thank all veterns & active duty military personel for your service. If not for you, this country would not be where it is today. Words cannot describe how thankful I am that we live in country that is FREE & we can do the things that we enjoy. My father was in WW2 & I admire the hell out of all you military people. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

What a wonderful post! Thank you for acknowledging all our military personnel and all our Veterans. We would not have the freedoms we have today without their willingness to protect us and fight for our freedom. So many people today do not show them the respect they deserve. They take for granted what they have here in the United States of America with no thought to the reasons they have it. My dad was 20 years USN and my uncle was 30 years USN. I have many friends that have fought for our country and I would like to take this moment to thank all our Armed Forces for allowing me the privledge of living in the land of the Free. They deserve our respect and our gratitude.
THANK YOU!!

I would like to thank the people who honor their oath, to the constitution, not the president's belief at the time. You are right, with out some of the active personel we would not be where we are today. Should we honor the active personnal who disgraced the values we supposedly stand for? Sorry, but in my book, not all act military should be honored. Only those who actted honorably.

Thanks for the thread and replies everyone!

I was on Point Loma at the National Cemetery on Memorial Day, showing some friends from the Netherlands the sacrifices Americans have made for freedom, including freeing Europe which is sometimes forgotten by the Europeans.
They were impressed by the many rows of gravestones and all the American flags the boyscouts had placed at each stone.

They were amazed at the number of names (some 58,000) representing the fallen soldiers on the Vietnam Memorial Wall in DC. What an moving sight that is!

The last two years I have taken my some of my grandchildren to Riverside National cemetery to observe the memorial services and visit the air museum at my last duty assignment March ARB.

We cannot forget and take for granted the price that was paid for freedom.

Freedom is not free! God bless America!
