Talk about pimping the boat. How does that seat work out for ya? I've heard a lot of guys complain about swiveling chairs on their kick. They end up taking them off. I would just like to have some that would recline on mine so I could lean back every once in a while.

Hey Lightthesky, how much was the CF # for your boat. I haven't done that yet. I haven't had a problem yet but I need to deal with it soon. Really like your rig. We should do a kickboat - pontoon invasion on a fishery soon. Wonder if anyone from FNN would like to join in. Peace Ron

Hey Socal Bassman, if you get one we can have some tournaments and have a blast. Lighttheskys boat is a nice example of the ways you can customize one of these fun little boats.

I've thought about it and I like the fact that they are very customizable. I was thinking of getting the ODC Super Sport 9. What do you guys think of this pontoon?

I've heard nothing but good things about ODC products from folks on a float tube/kickboat site.

I like that boat a lot SoCal, it's rated for almost as much as mine for less money. I think the red color is a cool idea as well. You will be able to see that boat on the water really well. The saddle bags are shaped taller than mine as well, I think the plastic bait boxes might fit really well in those. The saddle bags on the 1018 are flatter so my bait boxes are a little awkward. Hope you get it man, I think you'll love it. Mine will be a year in august and I love it a ton. Peace Ron

Hey RRT guy!!! I do remember seeing some guys fishing at the bank and lookin. It would be awesome to see more guys fishing out of these kickboats. My buddy and I have caught quite a few monster bass on our kickboats (have pics if you guys want to see). Hey Ron when you register your boat just make sure you have your CIRTIFICATE OF ORIGIN or Proof of sale. I think ODC ships their boats with it already. The registration fee is different depending if you bought it out of state and it depends on who's helping you at DMV. Heres my buddy and his tricked out ODC 915. When will the day come when a couple of us meet and attack a cove. Let me know!!! Buy one DARYL!!!

Will let you know when I order mine, which should be sometime in August. I still have to save some money for my trip to San Jose for my brother's wedding. I already have a pair of the Creek Co. fins, a life jacket, and a whistle. I also have waders, but they are a little small and they're neoprene. So I'll be buying a pair of breathable waders too. What else would I need to be water ready?

Sounds like your going to be ready for the fall feeding frenzy for sure SoCal. Do you have electronics allready. You might also start thinking about your rod holders. I've read some of your reports and you sound like at least a 4 or 5 rod kind of guy. Trolling motor and battery can wait but I sure like having it. All of these things can wait as they certainly won't keep you from fishing. Took me almost a year to get mine where it's at but I'm no lightning bolt. Can't wait to fish with you man. By the way if your interested in trying my boat out I'll let you know when I'm going to Perris and you can take it for a test drive. Might give you an idea about what you might like or dislike as far as the setup goes. Looking forward to it either way. Peace Ron :)

Cool. Thanks for the offer lightthesky and Ron. Hey lightthesky and Ron, how long does it take to set up your 'toons? I've seen both of your setups as well as others' on the bass-n-tubes website, it looks like all the boats are fully rigged. Just curious as to how long it takes to assemble and load up everything. No, I don't have any electronics yet. But I'm thinking of picking up a Humminbird Matrix 17 at the Sport Chalet by my house. Can't wait to get out there and fish with both of you.

It takes me about 20 minutes SoCal, maybe a little more. Depends on if I'm in a hurry or not. It's also going to depend on how much you want to take with you and how far you take down your boat when your done. If you have to totally inflate or just top off your boat also comes into the total time it takes to set up. I carry my boat inflated on my truck but if your going to carry it in a car trunk you'll have a little more to do at the launch site. Lets meet at the lake and we can go over all that with my boat and you'll have a pretty good idea what it's going to take for your boat. Peace Ron

I have been kayakfishing for some time, just put my 2nd boat up for sale, want to check out kickboating.

I no longer have room for the yak and since the kickboats can be broken down...

I would love to talk with kickboaters. Please shoot me an email with a phone # and the best time to call.

Thanks!

Lighthesky-
I'm very jealous of your rig!
Can you tell me what your transom is made from?
I love how it also secures the battery and other equipment
I have an ODC Classic pontoon, and a 30lb trolling motor. But I haven't built or bought a transom for it.

Thanks,
Finchbot

Hey finchbot my reardeck is made with plywood, but other people use other material as well. My motor mount is made with a piece of aluminum and a block of 2x4 bolted to the frame.
Hey guys my buddy is selling his kickboat. Its an ODC 915 and is still in almost new condition and very well taken care of. Its fully loaded with rod holders, fish finder mount, seat pedalstal and swivel and its got its cf numbers and has a lifetime warranty. All you need is a battery and motor , fishfinder, fishing rods and a human being and your good to go lol. Your allowed to fish everywhere except daimond valley.
$400 for the kickboat
$700 with trailor
located in montebello, message me if interested, its a good deal

I've always wanted to do Laguna Niguel! Maybe during Trout season! Also NPH is fun

Hey Santa Fe Eric, never seen Laguna Niguel. That sounds worth doing. I don't have a saltwater type trolling motor. That's not good for NPH right?

I've seen guys do it and just wash it off. But is salt gets into the electric components consider it fried. This happened to the Humminbird fishfinder I had on my kickboat. Of course Humminbird stood behind their product and fixed it for free.
