Is there a pipe that's broke, or are we still being raided by pirates taking all of our oil. Who know why the prices are going up again :Soap Box::Soap Box:???

Because they (oil industry) want the price to go back up to 4.00-5.00 since the car industry is going under and hybrid

They only lowered the prices to dupe us into driving more again, lol. Once we're hooked on traveling every weekend again, they inevitably start to gouge us again, and more successfully I might add.

I don't think $2.50 /gal at the start of summer is a bad price at all. In fact, historically speaking, it's outright CHEAP gas.

I heard on the news that because the market "might" get better oil consumption "might" go up so they are raising the barrel price....

Like hughpam said, because they can.....

Consumption rising during the summer = higher prices. It's been that way for 50 years.

An Excursion?

I thought those were an urban legend, like La Llorona.

Is this for a little more ooompf to compliment the Balboa Tilapia Bio-diesel engine?

Sweet!

Someone should invent an engine that runs on Mackerel and Carp carcasses.

Yup, its about that time again. And to add to it, I truly hate the fact that CA residents get bent over more than most states :(

They have always raised prices in anticipation of Memorial Day. I have watched this happen every year for 40 years. It's a nationwide thing. Also they switch over to a different higher priced mixture for summer. It does suck doesn't it. Also it doesn't help that oil prices have been on the rise too, and gas commodity futures are up. There's lots of factors in play here but the bottom line is "Boheca" (bend over here it comes again)!

gas companies are losing money on gas sales due to fuel efficient and hybrid vehicles IMO

You are right. We produce more gas than most other states but we still top the list in high price gas. The Ca. blend is oxygenated to meet emissions requirements but all cars made for the last 10 years use O2 sensors and mass airflow sensors to get the right fuel to air ratio. When Ca. oxygenates the gas the are in fact making the cars run lean which hurts fuel economy. If you do not believe fill up in NV. or AZ and watch the MPG go up. Ca also taxes gas at a very high rate, about 62 cent per gallon.
