I took DR out to Vail yesterday because he wanted to go try to catch his personal best largemouth. I had a pretty good feeling that his PB record of 6 lbs would fall on this day using shad. I told him that the "shad bite" was WFO and he was all for it!!

As anybody that has been to Vail in the last week knows, the bite using artificles has been good but getting the bigger bass to eat them with any consistantcy has been tough. But the bigger bass have not slowed down on the shad. They are eating it BIG TIME!!

When we got to the lake the shad were pushed against the docks and bank so it was easy to catch. I loaded the well with "the bass candy" and off we went.

The bass didnt disappoint...THEY WERE CHEWING THE SHAD!!

We caught 50+ Bass for the day. DR broke his Personal Best 2 times during the day catching first a 7 1/2 lber and then breaking his record again later catching an 8 lber!!

Our best 5 for the day were 8 lbs, 7 lbs, 7 lbs, 6 lbs and 5 lbs.....Thats OVER 33 lbs for our 5 fish limit. And thats not count all of the ounces.. :Big Grin::EyePop::EyePop: Again all of the bass were caught on shad.
I also caught catfish weighing 7 lbs, 12 lbs and a monster 25 lber that took me 15 minutes to land using 6 lb line.:Bug Eyes: I weighed that monster in the net because I didnt want to let it roll around on the deck of my boat and slime it up... Let me also say... the giant catfish WORKED ME!!! I was exausted after that battle!
It was a fun day on the water!! Here are a few pics of the day..

Now is a great time to have a shot at breaking your personal best record at Vail. The big bass are chewing the shad like crazy. You can also catch big numbers to go with it!!
If the shad bite isnt your thing and you just want to go out and learn some techniques that catch good numbers we can do that too... LETS GO!!!

give me a call.....
