You Must See What I Caught From Lake Perris 5/17/09

Woke up at 4 am and geared up for Bluegill Fishing. Took off around 4:30 and stopped by at the Liquor Store around 6 for Crickets. Got to the lake around 6:14 and still waited in line to get in. The gate was finally open at 6:15 that kind of late. Anyway, I got in the water until 7 because I have to set up my float tube. It was very peaceful in the morning. Saw a lot of Bass Boats fishing at The Reef I guess they have Bass Tournament today. I was drifting my float tube searching for bluegills for about a minute or two then “BAM” “ZZZZZZZZZZZ” I got hit pretty hard. At first, I couldn’t tell what kind of fish that got hooked on but I enjoyed the free ride for about 5 minutes then it (Carp) decided to show up. I didn’t bring my Digital Scale today so I guess it weigh about 4 to 5 lbs it’s your call. After that, I managed to pick up a few bluegills here and there and then “BAM” “ZZZZZZZZZZZ” played with it for about a minute or two. There you go, I have caught my first LMB (15” long) it’s good enough for me. I continued to drift all day and caught nothing but Bluegill until around 6 pm then I caught me another LMB (13” long). All LMB were released to fight for another day. Gave the Carp away and kept a few bluegills for Khmer Sour Soup and Deep Fried tonight. I hope you don’t mind, do you? I was using 4lb Test Berkley Fluorocarbon with Crickets only. Anyway, I had a blast out there today.

Nice work! I caught a 10.5" gill friday. The bite is definitely on fire. Alot of shore fishermen and tubers out there.

No one at the gate to do the inpection when I got there. I guess it's okay for flaot tube. I don't know about kayak. You should call and find out for sure. Good luck and Have fun out there guy! :LOL:

Yeh, It was a good fight but the first one I caught from there back in May 26, 2008 was bigger and took me for about 15 minutes to bring it in. It weigh about 20 lbs. That day, I was fishing for bluegill using 2lb Test Berkley Vanish and a red worm. Thought you should see this one If you haven't seen it before.

Hahh, I finally met you in person. How did you do that day bro? Him and his family are really close to me. They taught me how to fish back in 2005. I got hook since then. We should get together again someday hutting for those bluegills or any other fishes. It's your call bro. :LOL:
