looking for a 7 or 7 1/2 ft rod for striper fishing, will fish 6# on boat, and not over $250.
what you guys recommend. thnx.

Casting or spinning? What technique are you going to use on the rod? weight of the lures you plan to throw?

oop, spinning, baits no lure, drop shot n maybe fly line.

$250 bait rod? Just buy a voltaous rod. It's cheap and will last forever.

saw phenix rods, ultra mbx-700l with fuji sic guides rated 4-10#, looks like find the perfect
rod. thnx for reply.

i have a shimano crucial 7'2 drop shot and that seems to handle them. a little scary if you hook into something big though. fun to have the rod doubled over though too.

I have a 7'6 cumara that i run 8# flouroline on and use for bait fishing. Awesome rod.....
