Recently, I was thinking of getting a new reel, the Saros. The current reel on my Crucial rod is a Sahara 3000 and I was going to get a new Saros in either a 2500 or 1000 size to properly balance the rod and test the new reel. What is your opinion on the Saros? Also, what is the waterproof drag on the Saros and what does it exactly do?

I just got a saros a couple weeks ago. So far i love it. Its really smooth and has the line managent system that helps keep line twist in your line.WP Drag (Waterproof Drag) Maintenance Port A sealed plug that can be removed using a screwdriver to easily lubricate the drivetrain without disassembling the reel.

What crucial do you have? What line size are you using? Do you live near BPS?

I'm using the 6'8 medium action dropshot model. 6 lb. line.

My buddy had a 7'2ML that balanced out well with a Symetry 2500. Personally for that size of a rod and line class I'd try a 1000 size Saros. I ultimately try to keep the combo as light as possible. If you're close to BPS, head over there and have them put the reel on there and feel it out.
