I am thinking of fishing there on Saturday. Never been there..Any suggestions? Do they allow dogs?

Yes, on Dogs on a leash..
Its a County Park, with concession operated/controlled fishing..

Go to Jess Ranch or Mojave Narrows Park instead....
Or even Silverwood....
