What seeker rod would you recommend for 1 day and 2 day offshore boats?
Do you think a seeker american series 8ft 15- (20) -30 rod rating with 20 pound on a torium 16 would get the job done? If you would not what seeker would you recommend for a torium 16 with 20 pound for 1 day and 2 day boats.Tring to stay in the $150 dollar range.
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

i know the war between which rod (calstar and seeker) is never ending. But i personally am a seeker person. my favorite would have to be the black steel series. so for just a little more i would pick up a G 870-7 (http://www.anglerscenter.com/rods_seeker_bsteel.htm)

Good luck youll be happy with any seeker,

BassAssassin,

That setup you just described will work fine (albeit a tad on the light side during a good tuna bite on a busy cattleboat) Right now on classifieds, there's someone selling a Penn 500 and 15-30 rod that will also do the trick for $60. Good backup setup for you if you already have that seeker/torium setup.

Of course, you could spend more and lighter-n-better....but with $150 to work with, it's a little tough to do.
