We made the first 300 mile 2009 trip up to the Sierras last weekend. :Envious:

We left at 6:15pm Friday night and arrived at our destination at around 12:15am. Slept in the front seats of the 4runner, woke up just before 6am and took off. Fished Saturday until dark, with about 4 hours total spent not fishing. :Envious: Fished for about 2 hours Sunday before getting back on the 395 for another 6 hours. God I love the Sierras. :Envious::Envious::Envious:

Short Report:

When: Daytime.
Where: Water.
How: Various fishing equipment and apparati.
Fish caught: Trout.

Man,

You guys are hard-core!! Drive up there at night, sleep in the car, fish all day, sleep in the car, fish a few hours and then come home..... Sounds tough. Must have been a low budget run.

Great pictures!!

Not quite, we set up camp and paid our $20 saturday night. Of course we didnt actually set the tents up untill midnight or so. We were having way too much fun.

And yes, low budget is the theme here. We can make like 5 more trips per season when our only expenses are gas, campsite, and alcohol. :Envious:

Stay tuned for the next "commando" trip. Should be in the next month or so. I cant wait for Little Lakes Valley to clear itself of snow. :Envious:

Nice, beautiful pictures. Going up this weekend to midge Crowley. Hope the weather stays nice. Those chubs are found in quite a few lakes in the Sierras (Crowley, Bridgeport, Owens River, etc).

That's a Tui Chub. They are found on many Sierra lakes and the Western US. Those are the fish that are swimming around the June Lake boat dock. Big trout love to eat those tui chubs...
