Been itching to put the kayak in the water so I launched at 8:00 this morning and could only be out till 11:00 Tide was coming in so I paddled out to the channel and let the tide drift me back through the harbor. No bites for the first 30 minutes. Once I got out in front of the coast guard I nailed 3 sandies in about 20 minutes. This was the biggest one. He fought like crazy on my little 4'6" rod on 4lb test. Pulled my kayak around pretty good. Got a few other bites and misses and then ran out of time..

Ever tried paddling out to the mouth, near the jetties, and drifting back into the bay along the jetty drop-off points ... ya know? Like 20-30' AWAY from the jetty walls?

I've done both and I tend to have a little more luck on the corona del mar side (coast guard station) with the incoming tide and off the jetty with the outgoing.
