i must admit, i am quite addicted to this new method of fishing. headed back up to the same spot as yesterday. unfortunately, the tide wasn't as low as it was the last time i went out. once again, a multitude of bites but not much to show for it. but i did manage 1...my first ever poke-pole fish. a small monkey-faced eel, about 12" long, but a fish none-the-less. i think im going to take advantage of the early morning minus-tide and try out some new areas up the coast tomorrow.

I'm gonna try this soon around here. I think it'd be interesting to see if it yields anything down here.
If you're missing lots of bites, you might want to try not setting the hook and using circle hooks.

its not so much setting the hook as losing the fish as i try to yank them out of the hole...i finally started getting the feel for it today though

I looked up Poke poling and it looked like a cool way to fish and a cost efficient one too.

You have my undivided attention. My concern would be waves catching me off guard. This sounds really exciting though.
