They curiously look like school size Orangemouth Corvina to me...I guess they could be juvenile WSB (wish the resolution was better in the video).

Hopefully one day the Mexican government will honestly address the Sea of Cortez being overfished.

They are Corvina soon a lot of places that have good fishing in mex will be over fished and the less popular fishing towns will be good fishing to much pressure.

I pray to God that those aren't wsbs. That seriously needs to be illegal.

Says corvina in the title.

Which also translates to "White Sea Bass"...

The more I look at it, they look like small Orangemouth to me.

Those fish aren't white cbass or Orange mouth Corvina, they might be shortfin corvina though.

In the pic not a single fish has lateral bars like white cbass do, Orangemouth corvina have a pointed tail, non of these fish do

Note tail on orange mouth corvina

Kid Creole,

Nice Orangemouth! Salton Sea?

Great point about the tails, but the more and more I look at the vid, I see more and more resemblance with an Orangemouth, not shortfin. (WSB definately not). My best explanation is simply the coloring (though shortfin can have yellowish coloring inside their mouths), and the size and body shape. Shortfin rarely get that big....orangemouth on the other hand...well, you got one!!

Sansou,

yes that was a Salto Sea fish, avg size 10-12 lbs. I really don't know that much about short fin corvina, but I want to catch just one!

I do know that most Mexican Panga fisherman call in large croaker corvinas, even if they're Totuva!

I don't think the fish in the video are that big!
