Have been spending a lot of time in the salt lately and have neglected my precious Backyard.

After weeks of watching folks walk by the house with stringers full of DFG Stockers I could not take it anymore! But it was not the tail and fin less variety that I was in search of.

I wanted to see if my little "Get Some Air Natives" were willing to have some fun!

I headed out my door and had to keep myself in check and not stop along the way until I was 3 miles up from the house and then worked it going back toward the house.

It did not take long, the first cast with the smallest Panther Martin Spinner and the Aerial show had begun.

Every pool that was big enough to present the lure produced either a hit or several CPR'D little natives!

Here are a few of the pics.
1st stop at a nice pool!

This Gopher Snake was hunting a little water fall! Notice how well he had his anchor set!

Made a very short move to this spot. View looking up and down stream!

Made the next move and had to traverse this Blackberry thicket to get to this hidden spot!

Worked a few areas with many of short bites and chasers! There were little guys in almost every pool I passed!
I stopped a very small side inlet to the stream to see if I could find any sign of what is usually inhabited with Newts! This guy was about 10 feet off the trail in a very quiet little pool!

At this point I decided to call it after 4 limits of CPR'D Natives in just over 1 hour and took the hike back to the house!

On the way back I saw a few kids with a stringer full of Stockers and just had to smile to my self about the hidden treasure I have in the little natives.
To me the Stockers are like Stripers in the stream and will eat the smallest Native Fry so I am always gratefull to see the Stockers hanging on the stringer and bleeding!

Until my next adventure!

Another beautiful backyard report Steve. All I have in my backyard is a fountain pond full of Goldfish. Good luck tomorrow my friend, I think we're going to head South tomorrow.
