Havasu 4/17-4/19 Late Report

Hey all. Backseated a tournament at Havasu. Weather was mild at about 88-90 degrees. Water temp. 66 degrees. Smallies on beds and Largemouth Roaming. Had a limit on day one with 3 smallies and a 2 LMB. Smallies caught on a tube, texas rigged with 20 lb braid and an 8lb flouro leader. Both largemouths on a black and brown 3/8oz football head jig with a small black pork trailer, 25 lb braid and 14 lb flouro leader. There was NO carolina rig bite as we were all expecting from this tourney last year. Finished day one tied for 6th.

I got blown away on day two. 3 smallies, barely legal. Bite totally changed. Wind picked up and others were catching limits on spinnerbaits and I just didnt catch on. Finished 20 something. But hey, having fun and learning the tournament scene.

On both days, the bite totally died around noon. My partner and I decided to cruise the channel and take a breather. It was well worth it! haha:Razz:
