5/1 EPIC day MDR

[SoCaL_Ep3]

Day off decided to hit up the jetties at MDR searching for some halibut. Long story short, 1 hour later i get a bite on the sardine bait and it immediately starts zZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, ripping drag and takes off like a jet. Right from there i knew it was nothing small maybe a large leopard shark? So it takes me 1/4mile down the jetty and i had no more place to go. So i had to stay put and hold on for dear life. 20mins later, i feel like the sleeping giant has finally awaken and it starts ripping drag 5 times stronger and faster than the begining. It was ripping so fast that about 50 yards was gone in less than 15 secs. I had about 5 yards left and there was only one more way to go. Tighten'd the drag up and my adrenaline went up. It pulled, and my rod bendo'd like never before and finally line goes slack and its gone. :Sad: I really wanted to see what it was and the size of the beast, but I guess i'll save that for next time. I think this is when i will upgrade my weapons of war.
