It was the first day of fishing and I was not expecting to land a monster. It was at least a ten minute fight on 4 lb test. Thought I had tired him out 4 different times and each time he would turn and run peeling line off the reel. I was speechless. I had a dream about a month ago that landed a big Alper, never thought it would really happen, at least not for a few years to come. Never got to weigh him but he measured out a solid 18". I'm guessing 5-6 pounds??? Also got my first hit fly fishing... but jerked the hook too hard and snapped the tippet....
