Went fishing today with Don on his boat. Pretty much the first boat on the water, and starting hitting markers that he had. No love for a long time, then went to the tires, and I got hammered a few different times but lost the fish when they jumped. Both were quality bass. Don was the first to land one and boy did he. Using a 6in senko landed a 6lbs bass in the shallows. I was next with 2 more bass, both using a 1/8oz scrounger with a shad fluke. Working it slow and letting it drop every once in a while. My 1st was small, and the 2nd got a little bigger. Good day, no love on the ds. Looked like everyone was having a blah day there. Not bad in my opinion.. I had been skunked the only 2 times going and now its off my back...

Here is Don with his HAWG!!!!!!

great report. sorry about the lost fish, but it seems like you made up for it.
BTW- i dont know if anyone is willing to tell me, but i was wondering where "tire reef" is actually located? i have a topo map of the lake that has it marked on the map, but i can never find it when i try and meter it with my lowrance.

The tires are located south of the island within the 5 mph zone. If you line your self up with the west end of the island and the public launch ramp you will be a good line to find them. They are located approximately 200 to 300 feet north of the south shore of the lake in about 10 to 15 foot of water. There are two sets of tire reefs one is located on the line I described above and another set to the east of the first set. There is an old tire laying up on shore in the general area; which should help you locate them.

They come up to within 6 foot +/- of the surface; but the water is so stained, I have not been able to see them.

Normally they is a couple of boats on them from time to time; so If you don't have a depth finder; just ask one of the boaters to point them out for you.

Good Luck,
