I heard that it is better to remove the split rings on lures and use snaps to connect the line to the lure. It is supposed to give the better action.
What have you guys heard or what do you guys do?

use the split rings, snaps fail. i even put split rings on lures that don't come with em, i think it improves the action, even on topwaters.
Use Owner hyper wires if you upgrade your split rings.
I've heard mixed things about snaps, so I avoid them. Some people hate them because they've opened up during the cast (swimbait fishing) or when a fish is on, but other people love them because of how easy they make it to change baits. If you do use snaps, be sure to go as heavy as you can without impairing the lures action, and buy the most expensive ones on the market. As for the action, split rings give the same quality action to a lure as snaps do.
