Throw jerkbaits on 10lb test using a slow, steady retreive for halibut and big perch. The lucky Craft Flash Minnow 110 is the best all around jerkbait for halibut. Use a bait fish color like Aurora Black, MS American Shad, or Metallic Sardine if you can find it. Drop shotting Zoom Flukes works well too, as do 3in Big hammer swimbaits on 3/8oz lead heads. Again, bait fish colors, like shad or smelt patterns, are the most effective. Good Luck!

or if you just want to catch some perch to get the hang of it, get some 6" Gulp Camo Sand Worms. use 1" pieces on a smaller hook.

C-Rig it with an egg sinker varying from 1/4oz (1ft waves, light current) up to an 1oz (4ft or higher waves, and heavy current), a red bead, small swivel, 5lb or 6lb flourocarbon leader, and a size 6 (or 8 for finicky corbina) Owner SSW or comparable model hook.
