Anybody else up to ice fishing on Lake Sebrina or South Lake up by Bishop. I was considering heading up there for the opener on Saturday 4/25. I can hook up with someone either in Mojave (14), Kramer Junction (395), or Barstow (15)(58). Willing to share mileage. Enjoy meeting new anglers.

Ice might be too thin on Sabrina but I hear that its over two feet thick at South Lake still, its also supposed to snow up there this weekend...

So how do you get a hole through two feet of ice to fish through? They don't sell dynamite at the hardware store anymore.

Check out this thread and scroll down to Sierra Smitty's post...pictures show S. Lake and how to get a hole in the ice for fishing using an auger.

DONT forget protective eyewear. I have learned from others that snowblindness can ruin a trip really quick, good luck!
