Talk to Less at Valley Marine in Lancaster.
Going rates for marine mechanics seem to be 100.00 an hr or so.

Paying any good mechanic for easy repair jobs is way to exspensive IMHO.
And letting any bad mechanic touch your boat will end up costing even more bucks.

I would think that is going to be in the neighborhood of 2k.

I just had a complete service done on my 1999 3.0 Mercruiser and it was 2700. And the place did phenom work.

The Carb rebuild kits for this motor are extremely expensive ... around 400.00. I just bought a new carb for 500. Didnt want to mess with it. I went to pro boats in San Dimas. They do PHENOM work. Not cheap but man what a thorough job they do.

I went to valley marine last week. He charges $450 for the service (tune-up, new impeller, oil change, lube all the areas that need to be lubed.)
I think this guy is actually one of the good and honest mechanics.
Unfortunatly i had some other issues, and will be spending $1000.

Got my boat back and it seams to run way better. I feel like he did a real good job, and will be out on pyramid saturday, and see how well it runs on the water. If you need work done on your boat, the place is Valley Marine, and just the owner and his son do the work.
