I hit up mile square for a walk and an hour of fishing with the wife and princess on saturday evening. After the walk we went and chilled by a bridge I have been spotting a few carp at the previous week while trout fishing. Threw out some corn on the trout rod and not 15 minutes later my lines taking off. 20 minutes later this was the end result.

The Fight.....

That koi was a beast. Never stopped fighting me on four pound test. I was a little surprised to see about 30-40 people standing all around watching me land the fish. Felt like Bill Dance for a second there. Even posed for some random pics with different people and their kids with the fish.

Nice color on that one.

Anybody know how much a fish similar to this one (size, color) would fetch if sold through a koi dealer?

I know Koi prices vary a lot, depending on coloration and other factors.

Nice catch bro!!! Must have been nice to land that fish on that Phoenix rod =0) Is the water still the slim green color? I might hit that place again soon for the carps as well.

My brothers mother in law actually has two big koi ponds and she has some big koi's in there. She got two that were way smaller than the one pictured for 200.

Yeah still lime green. That phenix rod is badarse man. I love it. Definately hit it up. I saw a monster swimming along side the koi through half the fight. Good luck out there man.

I wasnt actually trying to catch that one. It was schooled up with some carp and it got my bait before the carp did. The carp was about two times bigger than the koi.

I dont think it will sell for much. Its quality is poor. Im guessing, it will go for 150-200 dollars. I've heard of a koi that was sold for 1,000,000.00$+. But i don't know if its true.
