i went to a local lake (no name because of the overwhelming pressure the lake already gets) and was sight fishing for the bass for about an hour trying to get this one nice sized bass that was swimming around near by, i threw the whole tackle box at him and just could not get him to bight... finally after about an hour he swam off. i began casting around the deeper area around where he was chilling and eating bluegill with a keel weighted chigger craw...
all of a sudden i got ripped so hard my ten pound line sliced right through my pointer finger where i was holding the line. after a couple minute fight and a couple yells across the lake to my buddy i landed the bass and he was a BEAST. we weighed him on a digital scale and it read 3.86 we thought the scale was broken so we took pictures and released the fish. later as we were looking at the scale we figures out the scale was set in kilometers and we both felt pretty stupid. so anyway the kilograms to pounds conversion if im not mistaken is 1: 2 1/4 which would put the bass at around 7 pounds... u decide

i then bought my buddy a beer for carrying a camera and saving me from being called a liar... haha

after the break we went back to fishing and i got another bass off dropshot that was around two pounds... ill post the pic later

all in all a good day

Yo bro. Kilometers is for measuring distance, not weight. Perhaps you mean grams or kilograms????

thats it i think it was something that began with kilo. thats all it said on the scale

Nice fish. Hard to tell the weight from the picture but I would say it looks to be between 5 and 5.5 lbs. You should be able to test your scale to determine the exact weight of the fish..

Anytime you can get all of you fingers under a fishes mouth you know it has to be a decent fish.

Knowing Bing I believe that was a dig on your "white out" background

Congrats on your 4-7lb bass....

Rich. I met you there sometime last year. I'm friends with Dave B., Troy's partner. I usually wait until the summer before I head over to your water. When the weeds are completely out of control and nobody but the locals are there...

Damn, 3.83km? That's a big fish....
My guess is 4-5lbs. Nice fish nonetheless.
Those Chiggers really are good baits.
