I hit up Castaic this morning bright and early, sixth in line. The girl that worked there must have slept in because she kinda came tearing in kinda late. I set out towards elizabeth canyon area, Checked out a few coves. Some nice big bass swimming there but LMB wasn't on the menu today. I was looking for someting I could put in the pan.
From there I changed my plan and headed toward the buoy line, and fish a couple spots over there. I found a cove that looked fishy and decided to putt around and drag the ole crawler back a ways, see if anyone wants to play, first pass..BENDO>>>With the head shake....came up with a team of followers...all Fat schoolies. I tried the same pattern again same spot on que>>>Bendo again..saame model. I did this for about 2 hours and landed 5 and lost 2. This was some fun fishing. the conditions were GREAT. Water clarity was great, water was 68 where I was. I caught all my fish on the threaded crawler. Several boats in the area lookin to get on the action but no takers for them. All fish caught on 6 and 8lb test, light rods, great day. I was off the water at 1pm. Wind looked like it was gettin ready to blow a bit. This reminded me of some quality sandbass fishing. Here's some pics:

Great to see some Linesides coming out of there, much better day than we had yesterday. I guess Nightcrawlers is a better choice than Sardines and Anchovies. 68 degrees water temp... wow, Sunday it was 58-60, that's a nice jump. Again, well done!

I love seeing how fat your catch was. Forage food is in abundance. Doing the 'crawler thing is not generally the hot bait for stripers. Just shows it's good to think outside the bait box. Congrats and thanks for posting.

Finally got a few fish to pull some drag. I need to get back and do some salt fishing on the Whaler. Nothing like a ZZZZZZZ with a headshake to get ya going in the morning. Instant wake up call.....GREAT
Now I gotta go catch some yellows or seabass!

Nice report. From what I have been seeing, the striper bite has been tough to pull out at Castaic lately. Congrats on getting it done... Thanks for sharing.
