My trolling motor battery went out on my last trip. No biggie, it's old. So I get out the other two batteries that I had on the shelf since selling my pontoon boat (never should have done that!). They are only two years old.

When I hook them up to the charger it says that they have WELL over 100% charge. I took about two days to get the "full charge" light on for them. It just looks wrong.

Any ideas?

Best thing you could do is hook them up to something that will drain them and then charge from scratch. If they take and hold a charge they are good, if they dont, then the overcharge indicator means they are damaged. A crappie light or something of the like will drain them right down.

Thanks Bing. Ended up taking it to Big O. They charged them both and said that they are OK. I hooked it up and it did fire up my trolling motor. Hope it holds out on my next trip. Have a couple planned for next week.
