Left South Shore Ramp Sat (6-16) at 8:00 AM for the Backside of Catalina to target WSB for the last time of the season with my wife Denise,Nice Flat seas and made it in an hour at cruising speed...we find the LB Carnage out front of Avalon and get some squid.....Plan is to catch the hopefull evening bite and stay for the Sunday morning Bite.....
Perfect weather 85ish on the backside and flat calm

We anchor up at The Vees in about 75 Ft and break out the Barbque and soon Cocktails.... All the while realising how Lucky I am to have a Wife that likes to Fish...... :D

While soaking some squid Denise gets hammered with a nice yellowtail that a dog wanted more than she did.....the dog nailed it at deep color and took the whole thing to shore with him.....normally you see them throw their catch around and play with it,not this one headed straight for shore to Grub....
We set the alarm clock for 3:30 am and get some shut eye and wake up with The Old # 7 on one side of us and the Mardiosa on the other......along with the Paragon, Phantom and alot of others....

We along with the entire Fleet Soaked Squid till 7:00 , we then see the #7 pulling anchor so we do the same and follow them around all morning for nada....Hit all the usuall hot spots but it just wasn't to be today... I think the Phantom was the only boat to get one on this day
So we got the big :skunk: today...along with lots of others
