Fishing was wide open at the reservoir today, nothing really big but me and the boy had doubles all day long.

awesome. i especially like the one pic with your boy looking back after you doubled up, and the bendo shot with the spinning reel on top, you can razz him on that one for years. there are a lot of jealous people i'm betting, quite a setup you've got over there.

except maybe Father + daughter. I used to own a little place at 344 Sumner. Played lots of gold and vball but never heard anything about fresh water fishing. How long has it been available ... and in what part of the island is the reservoir located?
Nice job and congrats with the fish! Do you ever do any ocean fishing? Tell us more. Is Guion's (sp?) boat stand and tackle shop still in business?

I used to live at 363 Sumner years ago, but have moved out to Pebbly Beach.
The reservoir has been there since the 40's I believe, just locals fish it. It's located out by Middle Ranch.
Joe's rent-a-boat is still there and owned by the Guion family.
Actually while I was fishing up at the reservoir so was JJ Guion fishing in his little boat.
And yes I fish saltwater around the island also.
And sometimes catch a few.

There is one main reservoir on the island and some smaller ones built long ago for the cattle and sheep herds that used to be here.
