Fish with fins most likely.

the crappie should start biting soon. and there are lots of trout (trolling with CD #3 black and white rapalas works good)

try reds marina if you are fishing from shore for trout. p/b mostly.
and a mini jig under a bobber a few feet will produce some crappie possibly.

French gulch area , Power Worm with a Gulp Egg. Carolina rigged on 2-4 lb 1/8 oz egg sinker. Slowly bump it on the bottom. Good luck .

If you want trout their will be plenty. Fish the area where the river dumps in for some LARGE trout.
Kissac cove is easy for panfish and bass.
Don't forget French gulch from shore
Piney point for trout also

The marinas will have a map for you telling you where the fish are.
Stop in the fly shop in Kernville for the latest on trout

If you like small creek fishing try Bull run creek for Browns

Thats almost what I do. I do all the same but instead of doing Carolina I just attach a #5 splitshot about a foot away from the bait. Same bait and line same area!
