As well as a weak opening week planting schedule... I've been paitiently waiting all week to see where the DFG would be stocking fish only to check their website again today to see that they have no plantings scheduled for this week! Ummmm, is that normal. I can't remember ever seeing them not stock any waters especially in the weeks leading up to the opener....

Just thought it was odd that they have already started posting for the week of the 19th and this coming week there's none, not to mention the week of the opener (the 19th) they only have Barney Lake and Rock Creek scheduled for stockers. Unless some of the private groups will be dumping 'em in??? Here it is straight from the DFG website (notice anything odd about the week of the 12th?)

All plants are subject to change depending on road, water and weather conditions. If conditions permit, the listed lakes, reservoirs and ponds, will be restocked with catchable-size fish from Department of Fish and Game hatcheries.
More specific dates are not given so that fishing activity will not be focused right after the time of the plant. Occasionally, operational problems may cause alteration of the schedule.

This page reflects the latest available information. Additionally, the Scheduled Fish Stocking phone number for the Inland Deserts Region is (562) 594-7268.

The waters in Mono county can't be fished until April 25th. I can't believe Rockcreek lake is ice free and able to take a stocking. If that's the case the all the Mammoth Lakes should be on the dfg's list. I'll know soon enough. good fishin!

Dont confuse the stocking list as meaning the lakes. streams are accessible. It only means that they are the list of waters that "could" be stocked if the road, weather and water conditions allow it
