What are the smallest worms you will use for dropshotting. I saw some guy on the lake the other day using what looked to be a 3inch offering. And he was nailing them.

Certain times and certain conditions calls out for a 3" reaper. Especially when nothing else seems to be working.

4.5" hologram shad curly tail does pretty good on the d/s..
Will bring out the dinks sometimes but I've hooked a fish probably like 9lbs like that and lost it to some cover

Got a 2lb bass on a 3" trout worm a while back too. lol

Well as far as dropshotting goes I haven't done much of it, but I often like to start out extremely small for my park bass so yeah a trout worm (3").

Thanks for all the input. Sometimes when nothing else works one must downsize.

Little 3" trout worms from Creme, good sight fishing baits. The Roboworm Leeches are an absolute skunk buster, and had pulled good fish for me. When the fish are really on small shad or similiar baitifish, its hard to beat a 3" Basstrix too :)

Do you use the worms you suggested in place of ... or along with regular Lips and Berkely worms? Anyone tried just hooking them like a regular plastic worm behind a split shot?

Liprippers and berkely power worms are generally for trout fishing. I've caught a few smaller bass on them, but a thicker profile is usually prefered when targeting bass. As for rigging the xps worms on other rigs, I've tryed it with very limited results. I have a basic rule I follow when rigging plastics. If I'm suspending it and imparting action to it manually (dropshot or flyline), I go with straight tail offerings like the worms I posted, fluke style baits, and standard 4 1/2 robo straight tails. Sometimes a soft stickbait. When I'm fishing a searching rig like a splitshot or carolina rig, I prefer a twist tail worm or grub. Sometimes a tube, but usually not straight tail stuff, as it just glides in a straight line with no action. Don't texas rig much, but when I do, I'll slap just about any plastic on that setup and hop the bottom with it around cover. Hope that helps a little. A lot of people go about it differently, but this works for me.

I just spent an hour at BPS looking around for these damn worms.... while I was looking for these I found some "BPS XPS hand poured drop shot worms" and thought they were the other worms that are pictured in this thread... and thought that they looked like those.
well I just got home and realized that I had bought these from the link by accident haha.
either way I picked up those worms listed in the link.

They are named Basstrix Tube Minnows, named after the company by the same name of Basstrix. They come in a large variety of sizes and colors. They are NOT the paddletail tube swimbaits that made the company famous, but rather straight tube worms. They match small 2.5-4" baitfish extremely well, along with similar minnow style baits like the Roboworm Alive Shad, Panic Minnow, Jackall Crosstail Shad, and many more. Google them and you'll get a plethora of online dealers

I got a 4lb LM bass using the small 3" berkeley worm on a roostertail. Seeing it move makes me want to chase it.

camman, I think what you have are strip baits, basically a solid strip of plastic. Boone makes the cheap ones I have seen in Hawaii. They are called Nenue Anchovies. Are those what you have, or something similar?
