I talked a couple times this week with Dean “Bank Robber” about going fishing, but we decided to scrap the idea since NOAA was calling for some inclement weather and sea conditions. However, after checking the "Good Friday" offshore bouy conditions and noticing that the forecasted inshore winds speed had been reduce, plus the “Watch the Water” cams showed great coastal conditions, I talked to Dean and we said "let's do it". I raced home and hooked up the “Big Drum” and headed for the harbor to enjoy a last minute afternoon fishing trip in the Santa Monica Bay.

We ended up catching a limit of nice size tasty Sculpin aka Rattlesnake aka California Deathfish aka Ouch!! aka Yumyum aka Speckled Scorpion Pescado.

We ended up catching a bunch of Calico Bass, Sand Bass, Triggerfish, Sculpin, Brown Rockfish, Buttermouth Perch and Blacksmith Perch.

Here I am with a nice Kelp Bass.

I had never fished with Dean before, but I really enjoyed his passion for fishing, plus we had a blast talking about past fishing trips, music and just going bendo!
HOOK-UP!!

Till next tide,

Don't always relie on the NOAA forcast. They call for nicer conditions last Saturday in Dana and we got whooped in a 25 footer in washing machine conditions! Glad we decided not to take my 16 footer!
