MY OLDEST SON ROBERT FILLED IN AT WORK .HES OFF FROM COLLEGE AT THE MOMENT,MY OTHER WORKER HAS TO BE REPLACED AFTER NOT SHOWING UP FOR SVERAL TIMES I HAD TO LET HIM GO, AT LEAST HE GOT SOME VERY VALUABLE FISHING LESSONS OUT OF ME. THE FISHING HOLE TUESDAY WAS WFO ON THE BROWNS AND PERCH,WEDS THE RAINBOWS AND A FEW FEW BROWNS WERE ON THE TEAR,,,,,t/o

Nice Fish. I had No idea Crowley Lake was open this time of year...Or is that PVR and the Perch have made it down the owens ??
Have Lost so much time I missed the Opener?

Those Perch looks alittle different in shape than the ones in the Duct, may be they change when growing up???

They have a really great taste, best filleted for fish taco's, they also have large bones for the rib cage which make gutting difficult (you'll dull some knives). Some prefer them over trout.

Can't catch them down here, hence Sacramento Perch. They can be caught in the Delta, and the waters from Bridgeport to the Lower Owens. Best catches have come from Bridgeport and Crowley lakes.

and when you get one (they bite well on crawlers) be prepared because they school. very noticable difference from the way the trout bite.

These guys taste good, but if you catch them don't be alarmed by what your striger looks like at the end of the day... Once these guys start to fade-to-black, their slime coat starts to come off and it looks like a gooey gelatin coming off. Not an issue considering they're less greasey than gils and taste even better!

The perch are some of the best fish I have eaten.

Ive seen state perch cought out of the Duct before,but you are catching the bigger units! Ive never seen them that big! Great ready man and thanks for teh pics ! See you in about a month!
