Hopped on the Betty-G today with Captain Anthony Le and his trusty deckhand Pauly for some action on the rockfish today. We rolled off the dock at 8am with 10 anglers, 8 rent rods. As we headed up the line, Pauly and I set up the rods with double dropper loops and a 10 oz. weight at the bottom. Didn't take long to set those up, and then, we were locked and loaded for fishing.

First stop was out deep for the grouper and belindas. We drug by it the first time, and we reset. Didn't take long for the whole boat to get bent on some quality grouper, and a couple of reds were also caught. The grouper eventually went away, and we picked away at some nice sized belindas. The bite diminished, and we moved on inside for some sculpin fishing.

Sculpin fishing was automatic once we got set up. I was using a big scampi, and pulling up big jumbos every drop. Easy limits within a half hour, and we headed home, due to the high winds. We ended up with limits of grouper, limits of sculpin, a couple reds, and a few belindas. Nice day of fishing. The Betty-G is running open party trips limited to 10 people every Wednesday and Friday when not chartered. Anthony and Pauly sure do a great job, and they will put you on the fish!

Hi Jackpot Jimmy,

As always great report and pics. Said already. I guess you'll be happy to be with your favorite crew here in a couple of weeks !

10 anglers on an open party ....... what's the damage for a full adult fare?

Nice Tar-tars.

Jimmy are you going to be riding the Tradition soon?

Yeah, I'd probably be riding the Tradition.

Nice pics & report JPJ!

Yeah, what are "belindas"?

Belindas kind of look like perch. They have a flat body, and they are an orange-brown color. They are found at the spots where you get your grouper, and are caught 10-15 cranks up off the bottom.
