i have my channel islands 2 1/2 day white sea bass trip coming up the 17th to the 19th. i went into a tackle shop to get some gear and the guy was saying how the white sea bass bite has been pretty scarce lately. has anyone heard differently? i'm hoping this doesn't turn out to be a bottom fish trip, but hey, i guess it's better than getting skunked.

The bite(WSB) could break open at any moment. Be prepared!

Nothing wrong with bottom fishing ... but nothing beats a WSB ride

You've still got 10 days until you go fishing and that is plenty of time for the bite to change. Don't worry unless there are no reports of seabass the day of the trip. Even then, don't worry too much. Somebody has to be the first to find the bite...

alright cool. i won't sweat it. i should've known the ghosts could show up at any moment. i'll just go for it and hope for the best. and like i said, if we're fishing for bottom fish, who cares. those are tasty fish. i'm excited for the trip!

gavin,

The cbass are usually biting a month before it goes public. Any hardcore cbass fisherman will not say a thing!
