My father-in-law and I decided to defy the odds and go mur-dah the largies @ Skinner this morning. Discouraged we weren't, for WON report read something like this ... "...largemouths are holding on their beds but are unwilling to bite ANYTHING thrown in front of them ... they are too preoccupied..."PISH-POSH!

First in line this morning ... 5am ... ALL rods rigged-up and ready to roll!

On the water @ 6:10 ... immediately headed to the East-end tules to start the slaying!

Fished the east-end tules and drop-offs (North side of lake) non-stop from 6-11:30 ... ALL fish were caught on either drop-shot, Texas, or Caro-rigged Robo's (Aarons, MM, Morning Down) and 4" Watermelon Zoom Lizards

Nice job on the LMB!

I think we may have seen you working the reeds out by "Area #2".

We got the skunk on striper fishing. Apparently they dropped the lake 9 foot, and per the rangers and locals, this made fishing hard. Personally, I chalk it up to my inexperience in striper fishing (and not knowing the lake too well) from the shore (this was my first time shore fishing for striper!).

Couple of the guys I was with did get some follower LMB on cranks, but no strikes.

We saw four different groups over east of launch ramp #2 ... day use areas on the shore .... I know you weren't the asian lady with gigantic hat ... maybe one of the dudes with your shirt off, letting your kids play in the shallows? Maybe the dude with some family, casting-out from a small cove? Maybe the dude with the daughter who was crying frantically for half-an-hour???

Dunno - but sorry bout the striper fishing ... no soaking the chovies???

Oh yes - - the last 2 weeks of April, ALL of May and ALL of June; Skinner will be happily taking my $$ to slay the largies a few times a week
