Got lucky and the wife granted me a few hours of fishing this morning. Went back to see if i couldnt hook up with one of the carps I saw the day before cruising around. While waiting for it to get warm for the carp to start moving threw the mini jig for a bit and got a nice 6.5 lb. My buddy got two nice ones also. The carp never showed so I soaked some PB to kill some time and was rewarded with another 6.3 rainbow. What a day. Quite a few nice trout caught. Good luck if you guys get out there. Rangers came by quite a bit so bring your fishing license....

Hey bro, it was nice meeting you again after all these years. What a way to start a fishing reunion. Today there was probably 10+ of these bruisers caught. I came back after taking off and nailed another one. My bro nailed a nice 7lber. Go ahead and post my pix if you want too. It's all good. Get them while you can because they're going to be gone FAST!!!!!

the ranger scared a guy from pulling up his bait casting rod which had one of those giant on it. The rod was being dragged into the water.

That park is practically in our back yard. That is the biggest trout I've seen planted there. Usually they are all about 1 1/2# and the cormorants eat them all before they are caught.

Heard from others that there was a potentially larger trout than these 6-7 lbers in here. But you're right about normally being 1 - 1 1/2 lbers. They only stock these large ones for the kids derby that is held here every year.

I too was surprised by the size of the trout being pulled out. I saw more trout over 4 pounds pulled out than trout under 2 pounds. Give it a try. Should be a few more lunkers swimming around. Probably best to fish it in the early morning or evening.

Thanks for commenting guys. I posted this so you all could get in on the once in a blue moon trophy rainbow trout bite at MILE SQUARE PARK. Hopefully some of you guys got in on the action. Those big boys were schooled up in that little back lagoon. Great times.

I went back a couple days ago for a couple of hours to see if I could hook into another big one but no luck. There was only 2 dinky trouts caught in that back lagoon. There were a couple HUGE carp hanging around under that one bridge Peter. Should try to get out there and hook them

Thanks for the info man. I guess the big ones must have moved out to the main lake. Im gonna probably try for some carp this weekend in the evening. It should be fun.... Thanks for the info..
