Hit up DVL with a friend today for a full day of fishing. We started out strong - there was no wind, the fish were shallow, and the water was crystal clear.
First fish of the day was caught pretty late seeing as it took us a while to find the fish.
This was the only one NOT caught on the DS, i caught this finicky SOB on a tube jig. Evey other fish i caught was on my ultralight DS setup. Fish weighed in at 2 pounds which was average for us that day.

Here's a nice one by andrew on the DS, fish also weighed in at 2 lbs. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y252/link92335/100_0395.jpg

This was the last fish caught at this spot, weighed in at a little less than the others but still a nice lookin fish.

We moved around for a while until we found more fish where i caught my personal best largemouth, weighed in at 3 lbs:Big Grin:This chunker fought hard, it was so much fun catching this thing on my ultralight. I have really grown to love light tackle, its freaking awesome!http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y252/link92335/100_0401.jpghttp://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y252/link92335/100_0402.jpg

Andrew also caught a nice 3 pounder on the DS

We caught more fish at this spot until around 2pm when the wind started picking up so we left early.

Overall, it was a pretty nice day for fishing and I had a great time. All fish were gently released back onto their beds. If you're thinking about going to DVL, you should go ASAP before you miss out on the spawn. Just try to avoid the wind:Wink:

Yeah, we were out there too. It did get a little breezy, which made the bed fishing more difficult. All small ones caught (not a lot). We saw a lot of big ones on the East dam - but they wanted nothing, finesse, reaction, nothing. I still consider the fishing slow (for DVL standards), until the weather heats up even more. For DVL the bite now is not as good as the paper and reports say. But hopefully soon!

Yeah I completely agree. Can't wait to get out there again in a couple of weeks.

Nice fish. Looks like the bite is on at DVL. Bummer we can't launch our boats.

No one around to take a pic of this beauty so took a pic on bottom of boat, 8.5 lmb 22.5" L x 17.5" G, this was a ten minute battle on 6lb line. Had a 27 pound bag that day.
