When will the announcement be made about the 12k lb wiper stock for the Vine this Summer? What better way to get the vine humming this summer. Also a great way to clear out the un-caught trout !

Wipers are hybrid striped bass. I'm pretty sure they are a mix of white bass and striped bass.

I love a democracy!

Wipers really are the supreme sport fish as they are sterile so they do not reproduce, they are PHENOMINAL eating fish. They fight light a banshee. All in all one of the premier freshwater gamefish around. Having wipers and cats in the lake at the same time would make for an epic summer at the vine! Not that I don't LOVE trout cuz I don't. Wipers rock!

Votes:

Binger - Wipers Yes!

For those who haven't seen a Wiper before heres a few I got last year:

These are big dogs.

Hell Yes, Stock some wipers!

Those are some strange looking fish. It's like a fat bellied striper with a small mouth.

No offense Bing Jr., but why isn't Irvine making the announcement if this is true???

(At the Del Mar FH show another lake operator who happened by our booth stated for a fact he is stocking these for summer. I don't want to take the wind out of their sails, so I leave it to them to do their own marketing fanfare.)

Not saying its true or gonna happen, just saying we really really really want it to happen! As the vote would show!

I will be anxiously awaiting the announcement of which other lakes will be stocking them besides Elsinore.

Why would you fish Wipers at a pay lake when you have Striped Bass in your backyard? Easier to hook?

Wipers being thicker and stronger than their striper cousins make for a better allaround fish. I love me some stripers, dont get me wrong but a wiper is a phenominal fish.

April fool or no, didn't they used to stock wipers in the Vine years ago? I seem to recall in the 90s there were wipers in there. Not many people caught them though.

You won't find me dropping my striper pole to run over there.....

If they are even going to actually stock them again

I'd suggest hitting Lake Elsinore, not that I have fished for them there yet though.

It's not as costly either..
