Montana fishing etc...

[Nessie Hunter]

Flew up to Billings Montana on March 17, stayed in Columbus, Mt for a week of fishing (very little) and to help a buddy move back to Hesperia..
He got laid off at the Stillwater Mine after 7 Months of work... SUCKS he just moved up and blew a wad to get the fam settled in...

Well, I got two sessions in, at the Yellowstone River and a feeder creek (unknown name), Only fish we hooked or even saw were in the Creek..
I landed ONE Brown about 18" (dont lip brown Trout!!!!)...
Mike landed total of 3 just a tad smaller.... 2 on first trip, one on second trip. My one was on first trip....
I say trip, but it was a mile or so down the road...
Picked through a lot of pics.. Most are Fam & kids stuff.. Here are the few I have that kind of tell the story.... You can see me bendo on the Brown.. It shook loose after taking most of my thumb off.. Ya, lots of blood and feeling really stupid.......

Beautiful area! Remindes me of salmon,idaho, where we hunt deer every year. Love it up there for sure too bad there isn't any steady work up there unless you heard cattle or farm.

Now you've got my blood going for october to get here :)

One of my goals is to do some fly fishing in Montana one day... beautiful place. Good stuff Frank.

Don't lip Brown Trout! :ROFL: I remember that I almost suffered the same fate when I caught my first Halibut. Went to grab the lower jaw and at the very last second noticed the wicked teeth... whew.
