been wanting to hit paradise cove for a while now to relax a bit. decided to bring friends but since they can't wake up early we ended up arriving at 9 am, half an hour passed high tide. surf was calm with the waves rarely reaching over a foot. barely any wind so it was a bit hot. absolutely no overcast and with a lost sunblock bottle, sunburn was inevitable. set my friends up with a Carolina rig on light tackle. 20-22 inch flouro leader, 8.25 lbs test, size 8 mosquito hook and a 1/4oz sliding sinker was preferred. bait for friends was shrimp mussels and frozen peas. i was casting the LC for halibut on 8lb test clear yo-zuri main and a 12 inch 20 lb test pink tinted yo-zuri flouro leader. the water has a high bacteria level so water contact was not an option so i opted. to cast from the pier for a short halibut. friends caught 2 small butter mouth and a huge butter mouth with babies in her belly(the fry was coming out as we were taking out the hook). all fish released and no pix of the butter mouths.

Wow looks like an awesome area to fish. Nice job gettin all those babies back in the water and nice halibut. Too bad about those high bacteria levels, sounds like a good day to swim.

Nice hali on the LC. Bacteria is a part of life on the So. Cal. coast. Best to be careful.

Nice butt. So that's where they all were. I was originally planning on heading out there yesterday, but ended up in ventura instead. Didn't score any butts at all.

parking is 25 without validation all day if you eat there and validate you have 4 hrs and withing the four hours you pay 4 dollars otherwise you pay 25 (very retarded) but the reason i like that is reduces poaching.

not at all. the end of the pier is probably less than 15 feet above the water.

Yeah ,I found out to, that parking down there is $ 25.00 :EyePop::mad::mad::mad:
Then when I was drilling the attendant, the TRUTH!!! finally
came out WHY!!! It's the little" association" of houses
in the valley that take a cut of the proceeds from vehicles
parking there in the restaurant lot!!! The restaurant does not own
the lot!!!
MAN!!! I was :Angry::Explode:So I went on a access hunt!!! and found
out that there is access east of "Gefries" restaurant!!!(think I spelled
it wrong)
Go past Gefries ITs where those big yellow plastic cones are in the middle
of the street. Or if your going towards P.Cove west, towards Zuma,Do
a U-Turn at P.Cove and park a little past the Restaurant!!!
It is 1/2 mile walk to the P.Cove pier when you drop to the sand, and
turn to the right!!!
I HOPE!!! There is twenty five Dudes fish that Pier NOW!!!
Don't forget to leave your trash,and left-over bait!!!
"There is more than one way to skin a fat bunch of rich cats!!!
$25.00 TO-PARK!!! OH, YEAH!!!
