Took a solo trip with my little red Duroboat “”Red Drum”, up to Lake Cachuma to do some early Spring lake fishing.

I drove through some heavy fog and drizzle crossing over the San Marcos Pass.

While trying to locate some shad schools that might have some Crappie hanging around them, I caught this little Largemouth Bass.

The catching was slow and I only caught two Crappie for the day, but they were chunky and taped out at 14 inch. Sweeet.

While driving back down the coast and noticing the epic sea conditions, I thought to myself that I should've maybe gone out on the big pond, but none the less, I had a very relaxing on a very beautiful lake.

I can’t wait to try the lake again in late April. HOOK-UP!!

Very nice on the crappies...although the bite was few, sounds like you had an enjoyable time on the lake.
