Big Bear Lake.. End of March ?

Im gonna go to big bear with a few buddy and stay in house right by the lake. I and the rest of my buddies have never been to big bear lake and we dont really know what do expect in terms of fishing. I know there is trout biting right now but what I really wanted to know is if there is catfish or bass biting right now and what my chances are of catching one of these fish? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to my father-in-law, who lives in BB .. the lake MIGHT not be open to boaters until April 3. He fishes BB EVERY DAY from the shore and said there is NO shore bass bite, but an open trout and cat bite.

Try "Juniper Point, (North side)" or ... the rock formations on either side of the fork dam ... soak powerbait or try jiggin Lip Ripperz ... for the kitties, soak cut mackeral..
