After the ***** kicking my bro gave me in HH Spottie Battle 2 weeks ago I decided to hit up NPH after work tonight and work on my technique. I also decided I would do nothing but drop shot and work on that so I can give Arthur a run for his money next time we fish together......
Got there about 1800 and started off in my usual spot at 15th St. A few cast later I got this smaller spottie.

Worked north to Arthurs favorite beach at 18th St and worked it from one end to the other. As usual, as the sun set, the bait fish was pushed in tight and there were fish boiling on them....cant seem to figure out how to get these feeding fish.
Worked my way back down south past 15th and got this guy at 14th St.

Kept working south and it was now 2030-2100 and I only had two fish, with some missed hits. (my day would not be complete with out farming a few)
Then around 11th or 12th street, I got hammered and the fish was taking drag (8 lb), I was not sure I would be able to turn it around......then it happened, it went around a piling for one of the private docks and the drag stopped, I put a little tension on the line and it was was not moving.....dang it! Well, I decided to open the Bail and see what happens....a few seconds later the fish was swimming again taking line and heading away from the piling...whooo hoooo.....after a few moments of taking drag and me gaining I landed this noce spottie! I was pretty excited.

Same fish.

Left the harbor at 2200....3 fish for 4 hours, not bad considering.
All fish were caught on Drop Shot SW Gulp Jerk Shad Sardine.........watch out Arthur, I am going to get this drop shotting down!
Late.
