Headed up the highway to fish the Walker for the weekend. Started fishing early Sat and air temp was 25deg. Water temp was at 41 all day. The fish were active taking small zebras and wd40s. It was overcast so BWO hatch pretty much all day. Did a little bit of nymphing and some dry fly fishing. Had a blast both days and topped off the weekend with a 24" brown. All fish were released.
It was nice to see the warden out as well doing their thing..make sure to have barbless hooks.

nice job. gorgeous fish. fly fishing mag. just did an article on the E.W., you should check it out. i fished there many a time. its for sure an epic brown trout fishery. I just hope people will respect the regulations on that river, and not throw power bait or salmon eggs with trout gravy all over it when dfg is not around. oh by the way, that was a sick winston b2 and galvin set-up.

Wow awesome fish, where is the Walker?

It is up north a little bit. Starts somewhere around Bridgeport I think, flows into Topaz lake, back out of the lake on the eastern side, and off into Nevada... Great river to fish

TO i tied some wollybuggers for you, next time we fish remind me to give em to you.

Trout masterson, according to the warden there will be more DFG activity d/t a study they are conducting so that should deter the poachers.

wow bro, thanks for the report, way to go....congrats on some beautiful fish on the East Walker. the big brown is awesome. cant wait to get up there myself.
