Hi everyone, need some help here. I'm gonna be heading out to the colorado river for a spring break fishing trip. Whoo- hoo:!!!: I like catching those smallies on 2 or 4 pound test line, and I absolutely love Sufix line. The only problem is that either Sufix doesn't make 2/4 pound test or BPS doesnt sell it! Do you duys know if Sufix makes 2 and 4 lb test, if not can you guys recommend some line for ultra light setups (preferably line that is not too expensive)? Thanks, help is greatly appreciated.

i really like the moss green pline in 2-6 pound.

i also like the izorline 2lb. that stuff is crazy strong.

So if i go with pline should i use flouroclear or what? I know i could use halo but its way too expensive. Sufix line is less than ten bucks!

I'm not so much a Pline fan. If you can't get your Sufix I would just got with some Trilene XL and call it good.

If you look hard Enough I know you can find Sufix 4lb. No 2lb, but they do
have 4lb. I really like Izorline XXX. Great line for a decent price.

flouroclear handles the best. cxx is the strongest (even the 2lb is tuff). seguar invizx if the fish are line shy, use mono backing and you'll get some miles out of a spool, especially the small diameter stuff. it's actually not that big of an expense when you look at everything that goes into a trip and how crucial to your success it is.

IF you really want to be gangsta you could go with the Power-Pro with a fluorocarbon leader. P-Line leader!!

I have no I idea why no one has mentioned Maxima. For all of my light setups, especially trout I use maxima. You can get it from walmart probably cheaper than BPS. Or like some others have mentioned Izorline XXX is awesome. I have 12# on my bass poles and its limp, tough, and has pretty much no memory.

Get the P-Line fluoroclear. I got a 12lbs LMB on 2lb P-line fluoroclear at Lake Perris. They hold very good. The CXX is ok too, but the dia is a little larger that the fluoroclear. Try the Evolution.....very small dia, but strong too.
I also like Seaguar Inviz.

P-line is over-rated. Thats why its so "strong" it doesn't have much stretch but a lot of abrasion resistance. Fishing that light line its important to have stretch because the fish needs to have some leeway or it will pop off. Thats why i fish XXX because it can handle pulling on fish and it has enough give to keep the line from popping. If you need extra abrasion resistance/less stretch, fish Izorline Platinum. Thats by far the strongest true rated line
