Photobucket seems to be down for me at the moment so I'm crossing my fingers that this works with imageshack.

Been a few since I've been in my tube so decided to go check out one of my favorite bassin spots. Patched up my Caddis last week so decided to see how my patch job worked out. Just got my health insurance finally and have some doctor appointments. Got a quick fix today to hold me over for a while, while I take care of those.

Set the alarm for 5am, but shut it off and slept in until 9. Got to the water about 10am a little on the sleepy side. Water felt a little cool in the morning. There were some clouds and a breeze about. I brought two reaction baits for my 12lb medium 6' baitcaster. A DT-10 Rap and a spinnerbait. I could tell my spinnerbait wasn't gonna go deep or slow enough with the willow blades. Tied on the DT-10 and kicked across the way.

I used the DT-10 to judge my depth. started heading shallow until my bait hit the bottom. Then backed off a few feet and casted out into the open, up the incline where I found the drop off.
Crank, crank, crank Eeeert! ziiip! Splash!

Quick release

Since I now found where some fish were to be holding, I stuck it there for 5 more mins on the crankbait. Nothing. Decided I would come back here later and kept moving. Run and gunned a bunch of water for 3 hours with the crankbait and dragging a mini-jig for nada. Came back to the good spot. Fish were holding an estimated 10-15-18 feet today. Everyhing I caught came from those depths. Seems a bit early still.

Felt around with my crankbait upon return to the spot. Nothing active on that but still breezy and I knew they were home. Use a Socal Bassman afternoon snack trick with a short *** tag and scratched another fat bally fighter. They all looked pretty plump today and gave me a run for it!

...so back he went (as always)
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/5528/bassin31208021.jpg

I only brought two "12lb baits". I was positive one would work.
Here there are being put away for the day so they don't pop my tube on the way in.
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/583/bassin31208024.jpg

One the kick back in, the normal baits with an unusual presentation surprisingly brought me two more out of the blue

http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/356/bassin31208026.jpg

Last one out of nowhere, but still in the same depth range as the other spot! Takin' notes.
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/9580/bassin31208027.jpg

Released to get big and pull drag next time
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/521/bassin31208028.jpg

That's pretty much it from me. Haven't been ON the water in a while but sure has been a "dry winter" as far as bassin' from shore. Might be a while before I can get back out there again. Still looks like the action is on it's way! Have fun out there guys

Totals: 7 fish.. two super dinky skipped the pic.
Best 3 prolly went 8lbs together with those bellies.
Thanks for reading-
TJ

NO! Not you too, TJ! What's up with all the hiding spots?

I guess that's not Perris cuz I doubt if you would hide spots in that hole.

I think FNN should have a new rules:

1) do not post pictures
2) do not tell anyone where you fished
3) do not tell anyone what you caught
4) do not tell anyone what you used
5) do not tell anyone how you did
6) do not tell anyone ANYTHING!!!!

LOL,

I'm not 100% sure yet bro, but I would like to get out there and try out the fishfinder. That is, if I don't have any trouble installing it. Guess that's what I'll be working on tomorrow, LOL. Regardless, if I get it installed or not I'm still shooting for this sat. I'll let you know. You gonna be out there TJ?

damn i wish i knew u guys were going tomorrow! i just got back from there. matt if you go hit up that spot i said where whittney caught his toad today on a swimbait. it was a good 5+. and bring ur guys trout rods! All we brought today were big baits but we saw like 3 or 4 big hookjaw trout pulled out of there from shore and we saw a few more cruisin along the shore! good luck out there guys.

Hey Guys...

SoCal and I will will be at site 11/12 tomorrow around 6:45. Hope to see you there.

Good luck out there. Most of the shoreline out there is very muddy. It can get real bad as soon as you step in the water to launch so check it good before going in. There is one short section about half way to the point thats still pretty firm for launching.

I've put in 48 miles this year so far in the east end for Zero Bass(just flyfishing). In that time I've seen maybe 5 caught and most were back in Jan. If you haven't seen it this year you'll freak. The drop in water is very noticeable in the east. Most the shallows have thick stilt bottoms.

I told my wife I would take this weekend off but I just might be out there.
The more I fish the less I catch. The less I catch the more I have to fish. Its a vicious cycle:Crying::Smile:

Looks like my time in college isnt paying off!! Hopefully your not living off the government tip or some broad.....that would be disappointing.
What the h$#% kind of thing is that for you say. Dude, you've got a lot of nerve and little tact.

Nah, the government doesn't pay enough
I actually have not fished in a week at least until this report. Too busy.
I hang signs and dig holes for them and run papers for realestate companies at the moment. Normally I would be engineering electronics but that work isn't working out too good since I moved and have grown out of touch with some of my contacts.

If you need a Bio, feel free to PM.
Where do you work? I tried to go to college and did not have the attention span to listen to my teaches talk and keep in my head what they were saying. I don't do "notes". I have smarts in a different sort of way. So far I've been able to do just about everything I put my mind to besides nail a DD bass and a hali over 30". The way I see it I have plenty of time for working towards those goals  Let's go fishing one day. Tell your boss 2 weeks in advance you need a weekday off.
