Went out on the Seabiscuit Friday night, fished Sat. Talk about easy limits! Woke up late due to not being able to sleep until close to 2am...awful seas on the way out! Next day...glass! Started fishing around 8am and by 9am had a limits of nice 3 to 6lb Rockfish & Whitefish, plus a few Lings(released), Sand Dabs and Rock Sole. If it was April 1st those Lings would of been in the sack as well. Fished mostly in 100 to 150 or so feet with little current with 8oz jig and a 4/0 above that was pinned with squid. Just about every drop produced a double hook up within seconds. The orange and red jig really did the trick! I even caught 2 sand dabs on the jig.? Planning on going back out tomorrow night on the Coral Sea out of Channel Island because the Biscuit is already filled.

The cost on an overnighter there is $135, but it really doesn't seem worth it because the 1/2 day and 3/4 day trips are getting limits as well. If you would prefer fishing with 15 to 24 other anglers than the overnight is the way to go. If you don't mind fishing with up to 50-70 other anglers then the day trips are a great price. I myself hate fishing on cattle boats and just will not do it, that's why I chose to pay the extra $50 or so. If you can get out mid-week you will score a very light load and easy limits!
