Folks you do not need to get you eyes checked!! Yes We were not in NPH.:EyePop:

We put off a late season Bugg trip last night due to winds and not having good feelings for success if you could imagine that when the HESBROS are working the Buggs!!!!:EyePop:

So we made plans to get Rich the other HESBRO out to get his first Spottie!

We met up at 0500 and were at the launch at 0615.

While Rich and I chatted while getting the boat ready of course Farmer Eddie ran to the dock to get the upper hand on the Bro. By the time we got the boat in the water he had Busted 1 off and lost another to my delight as this was going to be a day for Rich to get his first Spottie!

So as the boat was warming Eddie goes bendo from the dock and jumps into the boat thinking it will count toward his boat total but I quickly reminded him that this was now a battle of the HESBRO Brothers from the boat!!:Smack:

So we were off to unfamiliar territory and Eddie struck again with a Sandie.

Rich was next with a Quality first ever Spottie!!!!

Followed by a pancake flattie.

I snuck in a pancake.

Rich on another Spottie.

And another.

Then Rich with a Small Diamond Turbot with a big appetite.

Eddie with a pancake.

Another pancake for me.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3118.jpg
Then Rich went major bendo for what turned out to be a deposited beverage by a previous slob!!!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3120.jpg
Rich on another bottle I mean Spottie!

Rick with a swim bait Tomcod.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z286/flyngby/CIMG3127.jpg
Eddie with a final pancake of the day.

I will let you all decide who won the Battle of the HESBROS but it was very clear to me!!!!!!

We will definitely have to explore this area again but I still love my NPH!!!!!!

Awesome beautiful day BOYZ!
You guys represent what fishing the harbors is all about and a fine example of the type of fisherman that the harbor communities should embrace. With the MLPA boundries and closures on the line......... I think that you guys are the type of fisherman that the ECO freaks should take a good .....long...... look at!
When they see a few buddies relaxing.....catching fish......taking pics and then releasing them to flourish and grow......How can they propose to take that away from us?
Keep up the good work guys. Way to represent Team 57 and the Fishing network :Thumbs Up:

Ummmmm.... A PM on that Spot would be nice.........Don't worry.....I can keep a secret...LOL

nice job... I went out yesterday the 3-5 ft swells were no problem til the wind picked up.

they were right the lobsters were not going full speed, but i did get one to come to my b-

day dinner. i think the bat rays that moved into the harbor had something to do with the

lobsters not crawling.

Nice job guys. I guess as long as it has harbor in the title you guys can fish it. Did you do any fishing past the bridge? I have heard there are some decent flatties out there. What was that wierd glow coming from the sky? I am not familiar with it.

the H harbor definately doesn't get the hype that Newport gets but there's some good things in there. i wish you could get into some of those restricted areas just north of you there. drive by there all the time and drool (while hoping that the cop is not posted up in his little hole there trying to get me)

Ahh fishing in Huntington Harbor....I live just up the street and Huntington Harbor has never disappointed me. My first time fishing the LC there I got two legal spotties on two casts in the same spot. Let's just say the LC is definately a good lure in there. Nice job guys.

I love HH as well. Try the first buoy right outside the launch area. I launch
area is good as well. HH spottie tend to hang more with the sandies and they
are usually right in the middle of the channel. Big Hammers are okay there,
the key is in Gulp.:Envious:

Wow, you guys did better in your first time, then I have had on any single
trip there. NiCe job, that harbor is a hard place to fish.

Thanks again Steve for the trip. It was cool to get out to a new spot and give it a try. I look forward to more trips in HH so we can master that scene. And once again, you provided excellent guide service's (even in a new harbor) getting the bro on his first spottie. For those that have been out with Steve and those that have not, he sacrafices his fishing and chances to catch fish by positioning newb's so they are in the good spots and have the casting advantages. Thanks again

Arthur,

Yes we did cheat on my girl but she will never be lonely!!!!

You made a comment at the end of your Encore Performance post that Stuck me to the heart!!!

"Comfort zones are often best expanded by discomfort."

So we decided to take Rich out for some Harbor time in that Discomfort Zone!!!

Thanks for the Subliminal Message/Tip of the day!!!!!!

HH has great potential also and I usually in the past have just driven by and Drooled!!! Not any more!

Mike,

I could not agree with you more! That is what all of my fishing adventures are about!!
Have fun with the friends and Snap a quick pick and move on!!

I sent a PM on the spot!!

Chris,

I have been in comm with Eddie and that is why we decided to do a day trip and not pull all night!!! My fridge currently does not have a Bugg infestation but there is always the future. September is not really that far away!!

Ram.

You are now on top of the priority list for a harbor trip so it is time to log in and make the reservation on board the Spotted Fever!!!

Tim

Tim,

No we did not even go past the bridge as the Ammunitions Ship was at the NWS dock and there are testosterone loaded 18 year old on the bows of their rigid inflatables ready for action and ask questions later. You had better know the rules when passing through that area!!

I agree and we will be out there again for sure!!!!

It was our first time there and not our last trust me. We did go deep into the harbor to explore and figure what would work in there before returning out the the open area!!!

We will figure it out after a few trips!!!

Sorry that we did better than you on our first trip!!

Eddie

Eddie,

And our next choice is to get the spotties in the next Harbor to the north and the 1 to the north of that. It should be fun!!!

Thanks for the pics and report very nice quality of bass landed.
