CALLED UP BONES IN THE MORNING AND WE WERE OFF TO NPH. WE CALLED ARE GOOD BUDDY BILL (BAM BAM) AND HE WAS GOING TO MEET US THERE AND HE ONLY COULD FISH FOR A FEW HOURS. WE ALL WORKED A HOLE ARE OF BEACH IN THE MORN FOR 1 SHORT THERE WE SAW ARTHUR (WINGNUT) STEVE(FLYGBY) AND THERE BUDDY TONY ON STEVE'S BOAT. IN THE MORNING IT WAS SUPER SLOW BUT THEN GOT BETTER. IN THE DAY WE WENT TO 3 DIFFRENT SPOTS WE USED SWIMBAITS, HARD BAITS BUT THEY WERE REALLY HITTIN THE DROPSHOTED PLASTIC MORE MAYBE CAUSE THE WATER WAS REALLY CLOUDY.

Tail rot happens when you use the standard cheap nets every one who wants to cpr fish or short fish should use rubber nets with the small holes they can die from tail rot and helps keep the slime on fish .

I had a blast out there too many shorts to count sorry about the skunk Bill but it was fun fishing with you for those few hours next time try to stay longer. Bones it was good fishing with you once again and nice PB Spotty that was a toad next time we will get the legals.

It was a LONGGGGGGGGGG day out there Bigred!
From sunrise to 7:30 PM but I feel that we got a real feel for the harbor now. Getting lost a few times will educate you around the harbor too....LOL
So funny how we spent 12 hours on the water down there and I feel like we only covered about 10% of the area.
Yeah......It was sub legal day for the butts but that PB spottie really worked me on the dropshot. I thought it was a legal halibut at first and when I looked at you and said "HALIBUT OR SPOTTIE ?" and you replied "Spottie"....you were right. Man....Those spotties fight hard!
I wish I would have measured her or weighed her but I know she was way over my only previous three spotties. If we could have got those boiling spotties to hit any of our offerings the possibilities would have been endless.
I wonder if anyone here has some tips on how to stick those spotties when they are so keyed in on the bait. Looks like I'VE GOT SOME HOMEWORK TO DO!!!!

Nice report Lucas! Love that pic of Mike with the Hali under the Pirate flag... classic! I would say that the NPH assault was a success for all of us even though it was lacking some legal Butts... of the swimming kind. :Wink:

Good job on the halibut and spotties! Seeing these recent reports really makes me want to get out there. You guys will nail the boiling spotties next time. Sucks about the tail rot though, hopefully more people will realize that splitting a fish's tail does hurt it. Like you said, rubber or fine mesh nets are the best.

WTG pirate crew. Thats a pig spottie Mike, I agree, if I did not know better I would say it is the same fish I got. Glad you guys all got what you went for. I dont go to the Balboa side very often when on foot, I spend all my time from 9th st north. Not as crowded. I will have to hook up with you guys sometime and hit it on foot. I like the evening on foot, then when you are going under peoples private docks they cant see you and give you the boot.
